Identifying The "Breaker" or Modern-Day Cyrus

IDENTIFYING THE "BREAKER" OR MODERN-DAY CYRUS OF OUR TIME

The striking bible prophecy Micah 2:13 says,

The one making a breakthrough will certainly come up before them: they will actually break through. And they will pass through a gate, and they will go out by it. And their king will pass through before them, with Jehovah at the head of them."

After reading this fascinating bible prophecy itself, some zealous students of holy scripture have pondered what the true identity of this person who is called the "breaker" would be. They have wondered:

...Is the man who causes a "break through" and leads God's People out of the "gate"...is this one their "king"...the one who passes before them ... is this one Jesus Christ?"

Indeed, examining Jesus' first century ministry and what he accomplished for God, we are all fully aware that Jesus, God's "king," could be described as the True "breaker" in the above bible prophecy. No problem with that fact. However, could there be more to this prophecy than what first "meets the eye" ... what do you think?

Let's give this thought our full attention.

First of all, amazingly to some among God's Name People, there seems to be some confusion as to whether there are possibly 3 persons referred to in Micah 2:13 (the "breaker", the "king" and Jehovah) rather than 2 persons (Jehovah and the "king" who is also the "breaker") as shown there.

As we recall, the prophet Micah prophesied during the reign of Hezekiah, king of Judah. Because Judah’s leadership was so wicked during that time, the religious leaders misled the people to the point such that Jehovah determined to remove them from their land. -- Micah 3:9-11

Therefore, the prophet Micah prophesied in Micah 3:12 this concerning the leadership:

"Therefore because of you, (the leadership) Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will be come a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets." (NIV)

Of course, the typical fulfillment of this prophecy we know, came at the cruel hands of the nation of Babylon, who turned the city of Jerusalem into a "heap of rubble," and the glorious temple hill into "a mound overgrown with thickets," just as the prophet Micah prophesied. So then, these events referred to about the "breaker" coming forth to "break" down the "doors" or "gates," as spoken of by the prophet at Micah 2:13, clearly refers to the FUTURE "breaking" action that Jehovah Himself authorizies for a "king" to liberate His people (Israel) from a FUTURE "captivity" imposed upon them by the nation of Babylon. This is what the prophet Micah spoke of. And we might add, all bible scholars including the Watchtower Society themselves, all agree on that fact. No, this fact is NOT in dispute at all among serious students of God's Word today.

But, there is much more to consider.

Also, we notice from a closer examination of the prophetic scriptures that during the days of the prophet Jeremiah, who prophesied that Judah would be taken to Babylon, the "elders" themselves of that day, ALL RECOGNIZED the fact that Micah the prophet, prophesied and clearly pointed forward to this FUTURE "captivity" to Babylon, an event that Hezekiah wisely averted because he repented. And that point is not in dispute either. -- See Jeremiah 26:17-19

Additionally, when wicked FALSE prophets began to arise among Israel and try to say this punishment would NOT come to Israel, at the hands of Babylon, again, this was noted in the holy writings of the prophet Jeremiah. -- See Jeremiah 27:9, 10.

Therefore, if we as Jehovah's Name People, today would like to better understand this prophecy recorded at Micah 2:13, we need to first examine the initial fulfillment of this prophecy. This would be the only reasonable thing to do, at this point, if we ever hope to fully understand its FUTURE fulfillment in our day and time -- the future fulfillment, which is the greater antitypical part of the paradigm, as shown in holy scripture.

Again based upon the above, the prophet Micah then, at Micah 2:13, was referring to the FUTURE "breaking" work, and liberating work, that Israel would experience from the nation of Babylon, by way of the Persian King "Cyrus." (Isaiah 44:26-28; Isaiah 45:1, 2)

Going back in time, we recall Jehovah promised to deliver His people (Israel) from captivity to Babylon. For example, please recall Jehovah had the prophet Isaiah prophesy about a coming, future "king" -- the one called "Cyrus" that would be used by Jehovah, to do this very special LIBERATING work for God Almighty. Yes, Isaiah 45:1-5, 13 is very specific about this event. Jehovah says this in verses 1 and 2:

"This is what Jehovah has said to his anointed one, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have taken hold of to subdue before him nations, so that I may ungird even the hips of kings; to open before him the two-leaved doors, so that even the gates will not be shut: Before you I myself shall go, and the swells of the land I shall straighten out. The copper doors I shall break in pieces, and the iron bars I shall cut down."

In reading the above, did you happen to notice that Jehovah specifically said above He would "go before" Cyrus, the Persian "king"? Did you notice this. If you did notice this, then this very statement in itself can be directly linked to the prophecy of Micah 2:13 itself, as all keen bible students of scripture clearly recognize. Yes, it can. Such a statement then, conclusively shows that the "king" himself who follows Jehovah yes, is ALSO...also the "Breaker" too -- a point that is NOT in dispute among ardent bible students of our day and time.

So, when it is said that there are 3 persons involved with the future fulfillment of Micah 2:13 instead of only 2 persons...well, this is a statement that you will have to carefully weight out for yourself, as you may be making a critical mistake in this most important matter. Again, just my opinion.

And we know in October 539 BCE, this is exactly what Jehovah did. He used the Persian "King" Cyrus as a weapon or tool to yes, "break" the "gates" and "doors" down of the nation of Babylon, which for the first time, yes OPENED THE OPPORTUNITY for the nation of Israel to finally, return to their homeland and rebuild it...with of course, "king" Cyrus' full authorization. And this in itself, would fulfill the "breaker" prophecy of Micah 2:13, in its initial sense.

Therefore when we consider all of the facts involved, we are forced to see the plain fact that the Persian "king" himself did indeed accomplish this for Jehovah God. Yes, Cyrus, the "king" was both the one who acted as the "breaker and he was also the "king" who would ‘lead’ Israel, God's Name People, back to their homeland, as the prophet Isaiah foretold over 200 years before he was born. Again, a fact which is simply NOT in dispute among keen bible students of our time. -- Isaiah 44:28; Isaiah 45:1; 2 Chronicles 36:22, 23; Ezra 1:1-4

And of course, all of this was accomplished under the leadership and full authorization of Jehovah God Himself -- the one who authorized this Grand "Release" and "Liberation" from slavery to Babylon for the nation of Israel at his duly Appointed Time, in 539 BCE. -- Isaiah 42:7; Jeremiah 25:12, 13

As mentioned above, many scholars are in agreement that the "breaker" and the king are the same individual. For instance, The NIV Bible Commentary, Volume I, page 1472, has this to say in regard to Micah 2:13.

"The parallelism of the last clause established a close relationship between the work of the Breaker and the King of Micah 5:2-4 ...We may thus understand the Breaker to be Israel’s King."

Now, bringing this topic up to the first century, we recall, Jesus did a similar work when he fully "released" the Jewish people from "captivity," as clearly shown in his stating that he himself would through his earthly ministry, yes fulfilled the contents of Isaiah 61:1. -- See Luke 4:18

Therefore, we would have to say that Jesus was most certainly used as a tool by Jehovah God Himself, to effectively "break" the hold of the Pharisees with their enslaving man-made "doctrines" and "traditions" that were not in harmony with God's Law. (Mark 7:7-9) Afterwhich, we know, Jesus patiently ‘led’ those who were humble from among God's Name People, to "living waters" of Divine Truth -- a Grand Truth that "freed" the nation itself. -- John 8:32; John 8:36

Thus we would have to say, in a spiritual sense, Jesus himself became yes, the true "Breaker" AND "king" -- BOTH -- as he rescued the nation of "Israel" from the wicked clutches of the religious leaders of his day, who had enslaved God's Name People, of the first century. The wicked "babylonish" ones, the Pharisess and religious leaders, that had "taken away the key of knowledge" from the people...the way the Watchtower Society does to all Jehovah's witnesses in our day and time. -- Luke 11:52

Therefore, it becomes clear why first century "Jerusalem" (the city upon which God's Name was called) could thus be pictured in the book of Revelation as the "Great City" itself -- wicked Babylon The Great -- the "city" where Jesus was wickedly "impaled, as Revelation 11:8 clearly shows. -- See Luke 4:16-21; Luke 11:52; Jeremiah 25:29; Revelation 11:8; Revelation 16:19; Revelation 18:16

Therefore it would be reasonable to conclude, the Greater anti-typical fulfillment of this prophetic "paradigm" situation of Micah 2:13 then, should follow and be understood along these same lines. Yes, today, the one who is used by Jehovah to fully "free" God’s people from ‘Babylonish’ captivity, the true "breaker" who uses DIVINE TRUTH, as Jesus did in the first century to "free" Israel (John 8:32, 36) then, will surely prove to be, the very same one who ‘breaks open the way’ to freedom from modern-day "Babylon the Great" of our time, and who will become the very same one who will become "king" over those liberated, namely God's Name People of our time -- Jehovah's witnesses. It be this chosen one, that will lead God's Name People to "Living Waters" of Divine Truth, in the end. But, first before this can happen...

...bible prophecy indicates they must be fully DISCIPLINED first.

Yes, hard-headed Israel, Jehovah's witnesses themselves, must first, "DWELL WITHOUT A KING" to humble them as a nation, according to bible prophecy. -- See Hosea 3:4, 5

And of course, after, yes after this special discipline has been fulfilled these hard-headed Jehovah's witnesses as a nation, then, God's Name People, Jehovah's witnesses will be fully receptive to accepting God's Newly Appointed "King" and "Head" of the nation of Israel -- the Modern Day "Servant." Indeed, at this time, all fully disciplined, repentant Jehovah's witnesses would be most willing to "join themselves" to Jehovah by way of a very special unique "indefinitely lasting covenant" of our time called the "Scapegoat" Covenant. After being fully disciplined by God Almighty, they will be most willing to do this. -- See Hosea 1:11; Jeremiah 50:4, 5; Isaiah 49:1-7; Leviticus 16:7-10, 20-22

Please remember, since God’s people have always had a severe problem with leadership, from ancient times forward, indeed Righteous Jehovah proposes to alleviate this chronic situation by giving them a righteous "king" today, who will lead and govern them in righteousness. Yes, one who is "prompt in righteousness." -- Isaiah 16:5

Indeed, Jeremiah 23:5, 6, Jehovah promises the coming of a future "king" when it says:

"Look! There are days coming, is the utterance of Jehovah, and I will raise up to David a righteous sprout. And a king will certainly reign and act with discretion and execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel itself will reside in security. And this is his name with which he will be called, Jehovah Is Our Righteousness."

Or, YHWH Our Righteousness World Wide...YORWW

Yes, it will be "IN THE DAYS" of this particular "king" that modern-day "Judah" (Jehovah's witnesses) will be fully "saved." (Jeremiah 23:5, 6) Yes, they will be "saved" by this "king" who with God's Full Authorization, in true Cyrus like fashion, yes truly ‘break through’ and ‘lead’ God's Name People out of their spiritual "blindness" and "captivity" to modern day Babylon The Great, the Watchtower Society. -- See Isaiah Isaiah 42:7; Isaiah 49:9, 10; Luke 4:18
